My Grandmother passed last night....
At 92, she had lived a long and full life. She was so loved by her family and I will miss her terribly.

When my father died at the age of 32 it must have devastated her but she was there for us. When my mother died at the age of 46 she was the one we went to after the funeral. She was the beginning of a line of proud and tough women in our family.

There was nothing more fun than when my sisters and I (later joined by our daughters) would drive out to the country where she lived with clam dip and chips, plenty of chocolate and every tabloid newspaper we could find to spend the evening laughing, talking and reading outrageous articles to each other.

She gave me a love for gardening and sewing and an understanding of unconditional love I've never felt from anyone else. The flowers will be blooming in heaven like never before and somewhere mixed in there will always be room for a tomato plant or two.

2. Condolences to you on your loss
She sounds like a wonderful loving woman. I am happy you have so much in the way of fond memories to treasure and I have this sense that everytime you pass a beautiful garden, you will see her there.

7. Sorry for your loss Said Fred
What a horrible thing to have happen at anytime.

May her memory be for a blessing.

Tell stories about her life and she continues to live.

8. I think it's especially hard
when a loved one's death coincides with a holiday or other special ocaission.
My grandpa died the day before Thanksgiving 46 years ago and I think of him every year.
My mother's birthday was the day after Christmas.
Just be glad you had her for as long as you did.

10. So sorry for your loss
Though it won't ease the pain of her loss, your memories of her keep her alive. We are truly blessed when we have people such as your grandmother in our lives.
