In the spirit of thanksgiving, I must say |
|
I am thankful that George Bush looked sincere is his praise of the troops in Iraq. Yes I agree that nothing Bush does is absent a certain amount of cynicism, but this is the first time I've ever seen him emote and seem genuine. Yes Mr. pResident - happy thanksgiving to you as well.

1. He seems genuine in most of his speeches... |
|
but that doesn't mean jack. He is just really good at lying and looking sincerely compassionate, but in truth, he is a heartless, duplicitous bastard who says one thing, and does the exact opposite. Does anyone else find it scary that even the staunchest enemies of his policies are completely charmed by him in person--convinced he is a good, but merely misguided man? I can only think of another person in our immediate history with this much charisma--Adolph Hitler.

3. I attribute this to his considerable lack of brain. |

He attempts to "feel" whatever is right for the time. His attempts usually fall flat on their face, IMO. I find him to be as charming as a lump of mashed potatoes.
Whether he really cares about the troops or not, he understands the phrases "away from home", "Thanksgiving", and "photo op". I imagine he feels a slight amount of guilt.
Whatever I feel about him, I don't think he's a calculating, malicious monster. I don't think he's smart enough to be one, frankly.
