1. Snow rules!

Front wheel drive actually has a point.
Writing your name in the snow.
Its the only weather you can actually play with. (windsurfers might have an arguement)
Missing work. Everyone has called in once and lied about not being able to get out of the driveway because of snow.
Snow forts
Definately the donuts in the parking lots, love those too much!
Everything looks beautiful with snow falling on it. Everything.

BTW, I've pushed more SUV's out of stuck spots than anything else, heh.

3. Snow Forts!
I love to build snow forts with my fiancee and do battle! I am always defeated though, his snow forts are always better, and he throws his ice balls much harder than I do. :P

yummy.

Maybe I was poor as a kid, and didn't realize it, but I still remember eating ice cream made from snow.

6. My great-aunts told me about it.
They lived up north for a while.
It sounded so good, but we never had any snow down here.

5. Practical considerations
We get to open the hill.

1,200 people get to come to work.

Our visitors go home happy.

I go home happy.

The people I work with go home happy.

I can watch the coyote diving for mice.

12. Lots of exercise
from shoveling a foot of snow off your driveway every fucking morning, then doing it all over again after the plow goes by.

Oh, and let's not forget all the dirt that the snow picks up over three months. Except you can't forget it, because when the melting starts in March the white stuff goes away and leaves behind these disgusting piles of stinky black slush.

Winter is the price I pay for the privilege of living in Canada, and I'm more than willing to pay it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

14. Yes, it was. "Then over the *next* twenty minutes..."
Actually, it's barely snowed here (Ottawa) at all yet, and it probably won't really get going for another three or four weeks. But once it does, it's gonna be hell. It gets really freakin' cold up here, and I absolutely *hate* shovelling snow, especially first thing in the morning.

Actually, my folks broke down and bought a snowblower this year; I think Dad finally clued in to the fact that I won't always be around to shovel for him.
