1. What is Miss DC's talent?
Aside from her obvious physical talent of course. She's very pretty. :)

8. yes.. that's definitely a talent!
but then that whole competition is stupid. Call it a beauty pageant and be done with it. Trying to throw the talent and scholarship stuff in there doesn't fool this girl!

She is pretty - no doubt.

10. Yeah, but most of the time the woman that wins is smart and talented.
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 02:33 PM by GOPisEvil
But, mostly, it's about physical beauty, or at least someone's ideal thereof.

11. Aren't they all supposed to be smart and talented to even be in it?
I think that part of it is just to acknowledge that on the side in an attempt to seem more legit than the other pageants. Yes, it usually comes down to beauty - usually blond and tall - you know - what every American woman looks like

I dont' really have a big problem with these pageants.. I just like to make fun of how hokey they are. :D

*snort*

12. Oh, they are hokey.
And the easiest way to win is to be tall and blond.

I used to watch them with my parents when I was a kid. We always tried to pick a winner. Maybe nostalgia is clouding my mind. :P

24. Hokey and outdated.
And making fun of them IS fun.

I don't think that there's any minimum IQ to be a participant. As long as they sound smart (and anyone who ever watches the interview part has to acknowledge that they talk a lot of catch-phrase bullshit) they have a chance to win.

To me, the contest is just totally irrelevant. I don't watch it. I don't know anyone who does. When I come in to work in the morning, none of my colleagues are standing around the coffee maker, talking about what a helluva Ms. America contest that was last night.

And those batons are flaming, too!

And she wants to work for world peace for minority blind midgets who have issues with their adoptive stepfathers.

22. It's an ugly bathing suit and it doesn't fit her well.
It looks a little baggy on her lower parts.

23. Shannon looks good in the bottom photo, but in the top one...
...she looks kind of mannish in the face.

I think Miss California is prettier...anyway, the pagenat is dying (if not already dead) so why are these women wasting their time?
