The great joy when that message was aired so many years ago. It's sad that the story behind that one line isn't even mentioned on the internet. Guess this is the first appearance. "Jean has a long moustache." "Wound my heart with a monotonous languor"

The first message for the French Resistence was "Jean has a long moustache," which meant that the invasion was going to start within 24 hours, but the most important secret message was "Blessent mon cœur d’une longueur monotone" (I made a mistake my French isn't that great LOL). That message meant that the ships had embarked and that the liberation of France was about to start.

That evening the BBC radio broadcasted the poem and that single line was the key for many resistance groups to start whatever they could do. The weird thing is that the Germans knew, but the commander couldn't reach anybody and had huge fights with the rest of the upper scum so he thought fuck them.

But "Blessent mon cœur d’une longueur monotone" is the classic codeword meaning the fascism is about to end.
