2. Dare to be Stupid
By 'Wierd' Al Yankovic...
Otherwise known as 'Bush's theme'.

And I don't care for the dig at John Q. Adams; while he was a one termer and got his foot in the door because of his famouse father, he wasn't a bad president and a great congressman. He was one of the leading abolitionists in his day; and used his power as a former president to prevent pro-slavery forces from siliencing the abolitionists in congress.

5. It was only a dig at Dubya
ie, fathers and sons who were both one-term wonders. More a matter of hoping against hope that GWB loses in '04 than any poke at JQA.

Maybe I should have called it "Fathers & Sons (The One-Term Wonder Song)"

7. How about
NIN "Closer" for George Bush. And "All alone with you" by Mount Sims for Bush and Blair. If you've never heard of Mount Sims he's what "electroclash" should have been.
Anyways, I can imagine George Bush kissing babies and shaking hands whenever I hear "Closer." Whenever I hear "All alone with you" I imagine Bush and Blair dancing together and throwing money at energy companies and so on.

9. I'm Super (Thanks for Asking)
Bombs are flying
People are dying
Children are crying
Politicians are lying too.

Cancer is killing
Texaco's spilling
The whole world's gone to hell
But how are you?

I'm super
Thanks for asking
All things considered
I couldn't be better I must say

I'm feeling super
No, nothing bugs me
Everything is super when you're ...
Don't you think I look cute in this hat

I'm so sorry
Mr. Cripple
But I just can't feel too bad for you right now.
Because I'm feeling
So insanely super
That even the fact that you can't walk
Can't bring me down

10. Fire by Crazy World of Arthur Brown
Fire
Crazy World Of Arthur Brown

I am the god of hell f ire and I bring you:
Fire, I'll take you to burn.
Fire, I'll take you to learn.
I'll see you burn!
You fought hard and you saved and learned,
but all of it's going to burn.
And your mind, your tiny mind,
you know you've really been so blind.
Now 's your time burn your mind.
You're falling far too far behind.
Oh no, oh no, oh no, you gonna burn!
Fire, to destroy all you've done.
Fire, to end all you've become.
I'll feel you burn!
You've been living like a little girl,
in the middle of your little world.
And your mind, your tiny mind,
you know you've really been so blind.
Now 's your time burn your mind,
you're falling far too far behind.

18. Oh, my God! The "Halliburton" song...
...this is just perfect because a good friend of mine used to work for them -- in Oklahoma!!! -- and got royally screwed-over before being "rightsized" out.

Is there any chance you could finish those lyrics???

19. Living Colour "The Cult of Personality"
This comes from something I keep noticing about *. Like Steve Jobs of Apple, he's highly charisimatic and has what we Apple people sometimes call "The Jobs Field". It means that when Jobs says something about a new product (which usually are quite cool) for a few days or hours, everyone is kind of hypnotized by it and sure that it means that Apple will take over the world sometime next Tuesday afternoon.

Then we all go back to our offices and say to ourselves, "huh. What was I thinking?" and get on with our lives.

* is the same way. People hate him when he's not present... but it takes a really strong mind and self to not get all choked up when he's there. To not support him when he's standing next to you. I've seen this out of friends in the lobbyist field, and my sister did it when he came to Fort Campbell over a year ago. (She's not very strong minded and not very educated. She chose to drop out and have her son instead of finishing college.)

That shit scares the living hell out of me. Jim Jones had it. So did Charles Manson. So did Ayn Rand. They left bodies behind them, broken lives.

Quoting only bits to keep copyright protections in place....

I know your anger, I know your dreams
I've been everything you wanna be ohhh?
I'm the Cult of Personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
When a mirror speaks, the reflection lies

I sell the things you need to be I'm the smiling face on your T.V. ohh?
I'm the Cult of Personality
I exploit you; still you love me I tell you one and one makes three ohh?
I'm the Cult of Personality Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi ohh?
When a leader speaks, that leader dies

You gave me fortune, you gave me fame
You me power in your God's name
I'm every person you need to be ohh?

Anyone else find it disturbing?

Politicat

23. Liar, liar, and Send in the Clowns….(2002 version)
Send in the Clowns….(2002 version)

Aren’t they both rich?
Aren’t they a pair?
Bush at ground zero,
Dick ain’t anywhere.
Send in the clowns!

Isn't it bliss, don't you agree?
One who keeps bombing,
one we can’t see!
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns!

Just when we stopped being in debt
and knowin' the rich get all they can get,
and steal the election with their usual flair
America ain’t listenin’, it don’t even care

Don't you love farce?
Our fault I fear!
We thought that we’d learn
I'm sorry my dear!
Quick, send in the clowns . . .
Don't bother . . . .they're here!

Aren’t they all rich, and no one’s a queer
Losing our freedoms that we hold so dear
Where are the clowns? There's gotta’ be clowns!
Oh shit!, they’re already here.

Words by Kodi, Music by Stephen Sondheim

(and I am oh so sorry Steve)
