What are your favorite Music Bands?
I figured I could lighten up the heavy mood that has been prevalent recently. So I figured that I could ask this question. Me I tend to like classic Rock, although I am partial to a lot of things these days. Some of my favorite bands are bands like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. IMO Aerosmith's album Rocks (1976) ROCKS!!!!

1. Lots of different stuff
Classic rock is great, I tend more toward the Who, Steppenwolf, and Creedence myself. A lot of the 70s bands have been ruined for me by overplay on the classic rock stations on the other hand.

Also:

80s new wave and alternative: early U2, B-52s, Heaven 17, Midnight Oil, REM, the Police.

Some country music, especially "outlaw" country or those who tend liberal with their politics: Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle, etc.

70s progressive rock: Gentle Giant, Focus, Yes.

Original punk bands: The Clash, Ramones, Gang of Four.

And Bruce Cockburn, who doesn't fit neatly into any "category" but is great!

My musical tastes are all over the map...

16. My faves
Current tend to be either 60's garage/acid rock, late 70's new-wave punk, with some glam-rock & 80's alternative thrown in:

Jimi Hendrix
Cream
Jefferson Airplane
Mothers of Invention
X
Dead Kennedies
Minutemen
Blondie
Talking Heads
Breeders
Pixies
Sonic Youth
B52's
Clash
Patti Smith
Neil Young
Sleater Kinney
David Bowie

I own a lot of 70's progressive rock, but it doesn't age very well. At the time Yes, Genesis, ELP were rock gods. I would never had suspeced back then that the New York Dolls would actually be more influential.
