1. Dang it!!! Ace is my ONLY alternative to Home Despot for 14 miles.

I HATE driving 14 miles to an independent (that is really pro-Christianity, which makes me, a non-Christian, very uncomfortable) when there's an Ace franchise in walking distance.

Galyan's I don't bother with; Gart is better for sporting goods anyway and they're locally owned and operated.

But I hate it when I get stuck in competing no-buys....

Glad I'm going on a month long shopping fast anyway. (I hate Xmas music. It's so trite and sticky sweet and goofy.)
