2. I made enough... I always worry that there won't be enough stuffing |

or gravy. I admit it I bought jarred gravy. But there was plenty of everything. It is amazing that anything runs out when there is so much. I bought a really big turkey too so there would be some left over. There was a whole blackberry pie left over. Thanks. I am in the mood for non-political talk- I think its the tryptophan talking. It is really wild over there at GD.

7. Home-made gravy is easy |
|
After roasting the bird, pour out the excess fat in the roasting pan. Then pour some hot chicken broth in the pan and put it on a low flame. Mix it around and scrape the bottom until all of the little burned bits dissolve into the liquid. Then thicken it with a 50/50 butter/mixture and cook for a few more minutes.
You can use other liquids instead of broth, like wine or water, if you prefer.

6. Go to my inlaws for enough of everything |
|
My mother-in-law always makes enough food for 10 or more people at every meal. The problem is that it is usually just the four of us: MIL, FIL, my husband, and I. She tells us that we are fat earlier in the day ( well not me anymore since I lost weight, but used to) and then complains that we didn't eat enough when over half of everything is left. The solution is make more just like she does.
