1. Even as a kid, Disney's creations seemed lame and lifeless
Dunno why.

As an adult, I wonder how he got popular to begin with. His own creations stunk and he had to plagerize or buy other peoples' works ("Snow White" to name one).

Heck, they even call it "Disney DVD" when they were one of the companies who WAITED to jump into the DVD industry, they hardly took the plunge.

2. I never liked Mickey, but blame Walt, not the poor mouse
Walt was a real fascist.

Also, I never cared for Disney cartoons as a kid either--I liked the Looney Tunes ones.

5. Err.... Mickey Mouse was a cartoon character

If anybody was a racist pig, it was Walt Disney. And he may have been just a product of his generation, which was raised to say "nigger" like my generation said "black."

6. no surprise
Our history is rife with now-hidden racist pop cultural artifacts. I never cared for Disney myself, and I prefer Looney Tunes, but they had their share of racist cartoons now not fit for public mass consumption - I saw some at an animated film festival in Seattle some years ago. They had a few cartoons portraying black people with the worst sorts of caricatures and stereotypical behaviors, although the worst epithet in their case was "darkie", but still, cringe-inducing stuff.
