The other biggies lately are: 1) The new 3-Day Viagra substitute 2) Penis enlargement pills 3) Scores of mail order pharmaceuticals I can't believe are legal without a prescription (they aren't!), like Valium, Ambien, etc... 4) Lots of 'you have a blind date' notifications, which is funny, because I never signed up for nuttin'. 5) Scores of porn sites 6) cut rate mortgages, low interest loans, contact lists to MAKE MONEY FAST 7) Nearly every relative of Sanni Abacha has offered me millions of dollars lately. I started getting mail from relatives of Charles Taylor, too. I've been trying to figure out just who our common associate is, and when I ever met them (I'm stumped -- I've never been to Africa).
My mail program filters most of it out after I train it to notice what a new type of spam looks like.

If we get the millions from the Nigerian scam emails will we need to refinance to buy our viagra and other drugs? These are questions to which I cannot find an answer.

Supposed everybody started replying?
Think about it, the spammers would have to wade through hundreds of thousands of emails to find one customer.
It would work, but we would all have to do it.

6. I've been trying to use the 'Bounce' feature in the OSX mail program |
|
What it's supposed to do is reply with a Non Delivery Notice that the user doesn't exist.
Problem is, so many of these spam emails are sent via 3rd party open relays, or forged return addresses, that most of the time I get an NDN on my NDN.
Replying would do the same thing. It might inundate some open relay servers and prod them to close their stupid security holes, however.
