Hello everyone! I guess I should have done the proper thing and introduce myself, but didn't see a thread for it. Still trying to figure out this forum -- different from the one's I usually inhabit.
I am living in Dallas, TX, from Ark., voted Democrat since 1976. I have been accused of being a troll from here, so I decided to at least check out what I was being accused of. Quite interesting, to see others as rabid as I am at the state of things in general. I too am quite vocal about the apparent evil agenda going on in our fed & state gov't's at this timel I am Pagan (Hermetic), married to a wonderful, marvelous man since 2003 - right before his job transferred us to Dallas. One child, living in Conn. That's it for now.
When you do not post text, is it good form for you to put the nt? Is that because people won't click on your post, expecting to see further comments?
Told I was new here ;o)

That is exactly why people do it!

|
Very pleased to meet you to! I've noticed several people using the same avatar I am, along with the pent (which I didn't see). I went to the Groups Pagan page, but since I am not a subscribed, wasn't allowed to click on the posts. Aw shucks...maybe when I get a couple of bills paid off next month, I might just donate.
I was a little nervous being new and not really expecting another Pagan -- must say I am very pleasantly surprised. Nice not to be in a huge minority, just a minor minority :o)

9. Some people do it. I never do, because I find it annoying. |
|
But then I'm not on a dialup, and always "view all"... if I were truly sensitive, I'd be helpful to the dialup people who might not do "view all" and who click on each post to read it... and for whom it is really annoying to click on a post and then have no text in the body.
I've probably pissed some people off that way.
I just don't like the aesthetic of putting an /nt or eom in the subject line.
And welcome to DU! :hi:

17. Hmmm...two view points, interesting |
|
Some say yes, some say no... I just want to make sure I am playing fair.
okay, if you expand to 'view all' do you get just the titles of the posts, or do you getting a running screen of the actual posts? I must admit, just clicking on the titles is annoying, but hey, that is JMNSHO. I am used to other forums. BTW - I did look in the FAQ before I posted the first question, didn't see it in there.
What gets people banned from here, other than Rovian posts? The FAQ was kinda ambigious as to what an obnoxious post was. A lot of complaints about the poster?
My my I am full of questions tonight!

Actually....somebody had already had the screen name I normally use, which surprised and irritated me at the same time. Maybe that is why I have been accused of being a troll from here. So, since the avatar I use is a modern pic of Hestia, I went with that.
Exactly, about Hestia -- gotta keep the home fires burning, to remember exactly what is we are fighting for... our hearths, family and friends.

A Methodist chuch here is doing a series of lectures on The Feminine Face of God in Christianity." Missed the first lecture, but am planning on going next Sunday.
When I lived in Ark, I was a member of a women's group that has been meeting for 17 years at a Methodist church -- though the church didn't really know what we were about! I think they would have kicked us out if they had really know. But now, who knows?
I keep wondering if The Da Vinci Code hit a nerve, and brought the meme into real focus, especially for women. I think it has really got women thinking about their own history, through Goddess Worship. Though for me, in 1990 I happened to stumbled on "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler. (really wish she would update that book, 1988 is much too out of touch for today's pagans).

I've been in a moon circle with 11 other women for over 12 yrs. Shine is my sacred circle name, actually.
Are you familiar with any of Starhawk's writings? Spiral Dance is a classic...
I can't wait to see The Da Vinci Code movie...although I hope it's as good as the book.
Yes, things are shifting. People are waking up....
