NYC area DUers, come see my husband's band 12/3!
He has a lot of bands and a lot of shows, but I think this is going to be a really good one. I'd love to meet some DUers there.

World of Tomorrow
Wenesday 12/3 at 9 pm
Fez under Time Cafe
380 Lafayette Street (at Great Jones Street)
$10.00

They're opening for The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, an aqauinted band who are very intersting. http://www.slideshowplayers.com

World of Tomorrow is an experimental jazz band. My husband plays drums and trumpet.

Evolving out of long time friendship between the bandleaders of 3 of NYC´s most innovative ensembles, WORLD OF TOMORROW´s music is filled with a natural joy. The music is fluid, the dialogue comfortable, as among friends who have seen alot of sunrises at night. Psychedelic space noise core rock. Fresh and improvised.

15. YAY!
Of course, the real test to avoid embarassment will be whether at least one of us recognizes the other. :-)

5. the husband is friends with...
...the sax player in Cliff's band. I haven't seen them yet, but I've met him and he's very cool. I heard an interview with them on NPR and it sounded like something I could get inot. I'm looking forward to the whole night.

9. Cool.
If you can make it, it would be great to meet you.

Otherwise, I'll try to remember to plug his shows here more often. And maybe someday if I ever get back out there, my own.

;-)

27. We went to see the Lounge Lizard's tribute to the BeeGees
and it was really cold outside and they made us wait a long time, and the Missus almost started a riot so the owner got really pissed and said we were persona non grata.

My own mother thinks I'm an anarchist because I belong to DU. How great to have a supportive mother and a husband involved in a great band that you both enjoy. Someday, I will show up! Are very small dogs allowed!:D

But my mom is pretty cool. It's great to have liberal parents. My dad actually is an anarchist.

I hope the place gets packed full of people asking for World of Tomorrow. Also, I just found out, for an extra 15 bucks you can see Joan Rivers. I'm not sure what time she is on, tho.
