Flying Car Photographed in Perth |
|
The Google Earth database is reported to have turned up with a picture of a flying car. Looking at the image accompanying the article I thought it was either an actual flying car or a hoax – most likely created by whomever put the image into the Google database.
Examining the image on Google Earth, one can clearly see that it is some sort of structure with two supporting poles at the eastern extremity. The one at the northwest corner can be seen as well.
Fun whilst it lasted: Here's the link

4. That was one of the thoughts in the original report |
|
However, there is no detail whatsoever in the shadow - whilst there is in the several dark cars in the parking lot to the NE.
I think it a real shadow (the angle matches that of the trees along the shoreline). But that it is being cast by an object supported by thin poles at its corners, rather than the much more interesting flying (or at least hovering) car.
I must confess: Were I charged with putting endless pictures into what must be at least a terabyte database, I would find a way to liven a few of them up.
The people at Google are either more responsible - or there is a certain amount of checking that takes place to inhibit such expression.

10. I figured out what this is |
|
It's a roadside marketing billboard, with the obligator space in front for lighthing and walking for the people who put these sorts of signs up. It explains the shadow which would be more diffused if it were a car, it explains the angle in relation to the parking lot, and it explains why it's in a cut-out area of woods on the side of a road.
Where's my prize?
