What's your most addictive game? |
|
Lately I'm totally hung on Bookworm from www.popcap.com. I play it almost daily, sometimes up to 5 hours on a row, just searching for longest English words I can find. Extremely addictive!
So, what game got you hooked?

3. A little computer game called DXBall. And it's free. |
|
It's like one of those old Atari games. You can find it online. Version 1.09 is the best.

spider solitaire is to solitaire as canasta is to gin rummy: multiple decks and same suit rules.

I did not believe what they said about being able to win every game so I set out to prove it. I am on game 2764 and I am beginning to belive they are right. I have to play a little every day and it was great on my palm pilot when I had to drive my kids around and wait in the car for them.

And I love it so.
I had a job once where to kill time I played regular old MS solataire, timed. When I beat the game in 48 seconds I realized I needed to stop goofing off. lol

12. Neverwinter Nights, et al. |
|
I was a huge AD&D fan back in my misspent youth and NWN is the closest thing to being there. The best part is the fan modules. I've played some absolutely *killer* remakes of old TSR mods as well as some amazingly creative originals.

16. Galactic Civilizations & SimCity 4 deluxe edition |
|
The former has a bug (just don't letr the Alterians be a computer player) but otherwise it's great.
Haven't played simcity 4 yet, but it's gotten rave reviews and has a scenario where you can do things in the city you build (nice touch, Maxis!)

The single player is just so damn good. Great AI, great environments, great weapons, great mods. I play it almost every day for at least 20 minutes. In the morning before work, plopping down in my chair right after work. I never get tired of it.
There's a great mod for it called Monster Smash that has random monsters populating the map and gives you a few AI allies. Your job is to clear 'em all out to win the game. It's fun going up against 3 Titans in Lava Giant.
That game must have been on my computer, oh, what? 5 years now. It's not my FAVORITE game (that would be Thief) but it's really really addictive.

This game should NOT be sold over the counter. Hours simply disappear from your life when you boot this game up. Another good time waster is Battlefield 1942, absolutely great online FPS.

I found the tracks in PGR1 to be too confining, there was never really any area to really open up. I understand the game was more about powersliding, but I gotta have the car pegged at least once per race :7

I played "Evercrack" from it's intial release and played for 2 1/2 years solid, way too many hours a night. Quit it for DAoC, since levelling and having to have HUGE masses of players in high level encounters were such a pain to organize.
DAoC was fun...nothing like one-shotting a caster from cover of stealth and managing to sneak away, but Mythic kept screwing with the game balance way too much. Nothing wrong with trying to level the playing field, but they listened way too much to the whiners too much. I left when assassins ruled the game and little could be done to stop them.
Took 6 months off, and I'm back on EQ, but not nearly as "devoted" as I was last time. I play for fun now rather then the levelling treadmill. I haven't even touched my old high level toons, and now just make new ones and play 'em to lvl 25 or so.
