| Care Packages for Soldiers |

I am getting together a care package for some of our soldiers. I did a search on DU for information, but it seems the last post on this topic was dated November 1st. How do I get names of soldiers who haven't gotten any mail from home? Anyone with information please PM me. Even a link to a good website would be appreciated, since I've had little luck finding this on my own. Also, I have read lists on DU of what our troops would like, and having been in the Army, I kind of have an idea of what they would appreciate, but anyone have the current scoop on what our soldiers are requesting the most these days? (other than baby wipes, Kool-aid, ziploc bags, playing cards, hard candy, reading materials, toiletries, etc.) Any info would be much appreciated!

I have been in contact with the mother of a soldier in Iraq who has started a blog and site for soldiers. I got her permission for you to contact her and she will get you started on sponsoring a soldier. I recently sent out my first care package. Hope this helps and good luck.

By some coincidence, I was just at this website and it is a good site.
I just got back from buying a bunch of stuff and just now sent off an e-mail to Patty. Your help is very much appreciated!

It is COLD there.. Tikrit/Kirkuk.. His family has sent him a ski mask & gloves and those special socks that do not hold water.. It's been raining there and they walk a night perimeter in the rain :(
I have the names of the soldiers that DU folks have adopted, if you would like them...Just PM me.. We have about 15 I think..:)
