Temperature check in thread
It's 37 degrees here in Atlanta, with the temps rapidly dropping.

Oh My!!!!

Just three days ago, the temps were in the high 70's.

Brrrrrrrrrrr :scared:

4. Welcome to Vermont
For every degree below freezing we go we try harder to warm up the hospitality. Wood stove, cold sheets, warm wine, cold hard cider and many other delights make the winter pass by with pleasure.

5. It Was In the 50s in Pueblo, CO
I needed a jacket when I went out to get a haircut this morning, because it was very windy. But once the Chinook winds died down it warmed right up. Mrs. CO Liberal and I went out around noontime in shirtsleeves.

I prefer my 30+ degrees here in Georgia. I lived in So. Florida too long and hated constant summer and spring temperatures.

We went from 70 to 30 in two days. Winter is the best argument in favor of global warming. I'm going into hibernation soon. Somebody wake me when spring arrives.

expected low is 29. We were wearing shorts and sitting in the warm sun on Thursday. But the good news is this too shall pass: next week's back into the upper 70's. Will hibernate til then.

YIKES!! Went out to cover the herbs for the potential frost - shivered me timbers something wicked!

My outside thermometer reads 34 at 8:15 p.m.
But I'm not complaining. I love cold weather. Hate summer. I bitch like hell in the summer heat, but you will not hear any complaints from me in the winter. Right now though, it is a bit chilly in the house. I live in a mobile home and have to have my propane tank filled up to use my furnace. I forgot to check it and found that I am down to 10 percent, which is in the danger zone. I called and the gas company will not be able to get out here until Monday. So I guess I will just have to bundle up until then. I have a small heater, but I have that on my bird's cage. Don't want to have a frozen parakeet.

:scared:

It really is starting to feel like winter. (I know all you northerners know I'm spoiled) My poor daughter is heading to Boulder, CO for 4 days next week, the farthest north she has ever been this time of year is MD. I dragged my old parka out of storage for her, it's been worn about 3 times since I moved here.

Added: uh, here would be upstate SC.

I bought a parka for a trip to Colorado in 1999. But I have used it every winter here since then. Winters seem to be getting colder in the South.

38. It certainly fells colder tonight
but mostly I really enjoy the winters here, having spent most of my life in MD and VA. I'd really be happiest right on the coast, or even farther down. As I get older, I'm slowly sliding farther south (in more ways than one, ha)

I used to work outside, even in the winter. Now I'm a winter weenie.
