I am having speaker problems, help me
So I finally solved my sound problem but I still dont hear anything because I think my speakers are busted. I installed the card and all, because it doesnt have the yellow ? on it, and my MP3 player doesnt give me a message like I used to but I cant hear anything. Its strange. Do I need new speakers?

1. Check volume level.
The volume level on the taskbar(speaker icon) may be too low.

I'm not familiar with your previous post. What OS are you using?

Also, make sure you are plugged into the right jack on the sound card.

On edit - Are you using powered speakers? Most sound cards require powered speakers.

2. try plugging your earphones into the speaker jack?
If you think the speakers are bad, but soundcard is good the only way I can think of to test it is to try another set of speakers or earphones.

4. Check the speakers with a portable CD player
or old walkman. Anything with small stereo earphone jacks (or preferably a "line out"). Set the volume on medium and see if the speakers work. Conversely, almost all soundcards have earphone jacks. Use a working set of phones to make sure your soundcard is working.

Just don't expect to get any sound out of the "microphone in" jack!:)

15. When I started to have speaker problems was when my computer died.
I have Dolby Surround Sound speakers. My sound system went out on my old computer. Bought a new computer and hooked up my Dolby sound system to my new computer and sound is now working fine.
