Looking for a specific Iraq war pic |
|
I've gone thru many slideshows on different sites, but I'm looking for a specific picture in Hi-res of a little girl (maybe 2 yo) in white being carried by a woman in black, fleeing from the black smoke in the background. The little girl looks terrified (no shit). This pic is so haunting, I really want a good version of it for the desktop of my computer for my pro-*, pro-war colleagues to see when they walk by.
Anybody know which one I'm talking about? Anybody know of any good slideshows where I can look that aren't the size of a wallet snapshot?

It's been awhile...I have this one up on my website but if I recall the original was quite a bit bigger.
Most likely it's up at robert-fisk.com. He has the largest collection of Iraq war victim pics that I know of. There may be information from which you can contact the photographer or licensor.

Loses resolution when saved in BMP for desktop. But thanks for the posts. I'll use this one for now and continue my quest.
THANKS again!

The girl in the yellow dress, fleeing basra. Went out over AP. There are several from that scene.
I will look for them online. If I don't get back to you, pm me and I'll email them to you.

7. the photographer is Tony Nicoletti, and it was Reuters, not AP |
|
I said yellow because I did some work with it and made it yellow. It seems like none of the childred actually wore yellow.
It went out March 31. Civilians fleeing Basra, British 7th Armored Brigade moving in.
Can't find them all in one place.

8. Actually, I think it was AP, and a different photog name |

I have a clipping of it from the LA Times around here somewhere. Got misplaced in the move. But I'm almost certain it was a different photog name and it was an AP shot.
On edit--Just found my clipping of it. Dan Chung, AP.
