at Borders. Are they any good....for quiet "theocratic Christmas Music?"
Oh jeeze....what does "theocratic mean?" I think it means for everyone..but I didn't check dictionary.....I think "Religious for the Common Man...with a pleasant "non-threatening sound?"
Anyway, was looking for quiet religous (not fundie) Christmas music with some nice tones? But, couldn't listen so didn't buy it...Is it any good?

For quiet modern: The Carols of Christmas - Windham Hill 1996
For quiet traditional/ancient- Tavener Consort, Andrew Parrott director any of their xmas cd's - Now Make We Merthe, The Purcell Consort of Voices - Sing We All Merrily, A colonial xmas Linda Russell & Companie
For quiet "out of the ordinary music"-Carlos Nakai & William Eaton- Native American Flute & Guitar
.................................................................................................................................................... For Lively music that everyone will like:
Try the Christmas Revels- There are Christmas Revels in several cities across the country. Each one has a theme for the year... Celtic, Norwegian, Italian, Renaissance, Victorian.
They do traditions, plays, songs etc from those traditions... and always have the Mummers.
The 3 best cd's are:
The Christmas Revels- John Langstaff Director The Victorian Christmas Revels Sing We Now of Christmas
Then there is The Chieftans cd called "The Bells of Dublin" a must have
Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band:
A Tapestry of Carols Carols & Capers
All of these are upbeat with ancient traditional songs many of which with roots further back than Christianity.
For more modern Christmas music try: Jazz To The World from 1995
