I'm watching it for the first time.

What's it about?

1. Did you ever watch "Twin Peaks"?
It's a lot like that - no one knows what it is really about, but it is very, very addictive.
Carol :-)

3. No One Knows
Not even the show's writers. It's the kind of show where you make up your story.

4. I'm catching up on previous episodes
using Time-Warner's "iControl" function. You can order up individual episodes of HBO programs. You sort of have to see it from the beginning. I started watching when it premiered, but then I had to miss a couple of weeks, and I was totally lost. Earlier this week, I looked at my cable bill and realized that I was paying for iControl, so I thought I'd use it.

6. Good vs. Evil, as far as I can tell...
...though none of the lines are particularly clearly cut. I suspect Brother Justin and Ben are both basically good, but are pawns being played against each other by warring evil forces.

I hope we find out just what happened in "the old country". (is Management the Russian soldier??)

8. It's really good as a period piece.
Although I was born in 1940, I have photographs of my family before then, like in the thirties, and the costumes and sets look really authentic. I think the characters are compelling and where the story goes I guess we will see.
