"It's OK, people like you are welcome here."
WTF? I just went out to grab a half-rack and decided to grab some chicken nuggets and fries at the local Wendy's. It was about ten minutes until they closed the lobby. After working at a place that really hates people that come in right before closing I asked if it was alright if I grabbed a bite. She said, "It's OK, people like you are welcome here." WTF, sure I'm not dressed up right now. I had a beanie on and old pants. An old scarf and hoodie. I'm clean, shaved this morning, fuck I even plucked my brow(unibrow). On my way out she told me of a coffee shop that would let me stay all night. Thanks!

I'm sure she thought she was being helpful to this homeless guy that paid for his dinner (2.28$) at Wendy's with his VISA card. Jesus, I feel bad for the real homeless this girl serves.

4. From an objective point of view . . .
. . . . When you said, "Is it okay if I grab a bite", she should have thought you were homeless. You didn't say "I'd like some chicken nuggets and some fries." In addition, you obviously looked like a homeless person.

She was probably surprised when you pulled out a credit card, which she probably assumed was stolen.

11. That poor rabbit.
If he lived here, he'd probably be strung up in a butcher shop.

3. Don't take it personally. Just be glad there's a Wendy's
that treats homeless people like human beings.

9. The trick is to order a Big Mac with extra cheese.
That way, they are supposed to make it fresh.

12. 'People like you' strikes me as potentially offensive
Within my lifetime, that same sentence could've been said to a black person — and likely was.

Why not just "You're welcome here"? Or nothing at all but normal service?

But perhaps I'm being too sensitive.

16. Awww, what a nice girl. Granted she jumped to the wrong conclusion, but
she was so NICE about it!

Sounds like a liberal to me... She gets 2 thumbs up for a good, kind attitude! We need more people like HER!

18. *g* Why does that anger you?
I shop at a little supermarket every day, buying carrots and bananas for the horses and what little I need. Always I'm wearing my stable clothes which are very old and almost never clean. Sometimes I pay with my bank card but I know the people who work there must think I'm poor. They even give me blackish bananas (the best!) for the horses sometimes and I don't have to pay which they are not allowed to do! I don't care WHAT ANYBODY thinks of my appearance as long as I feel comfortable with it.
