Hey DU! I once got pulled over by a cop for not having a license plate on the front of my car. My inspection had expired (violation), and I didn't have my driver's license (violation) or proof of insurance (violation) on me.
The cop listed all the things he could ticket me for. Then he said he would let me go. He then lectured me, "These political bumperstickers all over your car don't help you at all. They are why I pulled you over. You should get rid of them." I think that he really didn't like the Hinchey or the "Nothing Accomplished" (moveon) bumperstickers.
I thanked him for letting me go. The only reason he let me gop without tickets was so that he could lecture me about my bumperstickers. The cop knew he could lecture me, or ticket me. He decided to lecture.
So, my progressive bumperstickers got me out of some tickets. Sure, they lead to me being profiled and sought out by the cops, but in the end, the cop would rather lecture that do his job!
Thought DU might dig my rant... Holla!
