kinda spooked here people.
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 07:03 AM by HEyHEY
I just got home...was making a sandwich...my Dad got up..odd. no one has ever gotten up before...my little sis hasn't gotten home yet. Dad says her ex has been following her around...she dumped him for being too possesive.

I don't think he would do anything violent....but honeslty, I'm thinking about getting some buddies and finding him tomorrow.

I am kinda spooked and the fact this prick has my parents up in worry makes me angry...and now I'm worried about my sister. She usually gets home late because she works in a bar and sometimes sleeps at a friend's place that is close to said bar.

She isn't answering her phone I'm not sure what to do.

6. I slept all day, so I'm wide awake
That "Puff the magic dragon " thing, altogether taken it sounds like abandonment issues. Just a thought ...

7. nah don't have those
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 07:28 AM by HEyHEY
I think it's just ...wow come to think of it it does sound like that. But I've never been abandoned...except....when I was really young my sister and I were good buds...then my other sister was born and my older sis seemed to turn on me..never wanted to hang out. But I don't think that could be it..too insignif...I think I either feel guilty about my dog....or I just have a soft spot for lonely people.

3. i know the feeling!
my daughter works in a bar (as a DJ), and i panic sometimes when she doesn't answer her phone. i finally convinced her to set a separate ring tone for my calls. if she doesn't answer my calls, i don't do her laundry, etc. she now answers most of the time.

5. i'd feel weird too
stalking ain't funny -- even if nothing nasty happens -- it's always good to have some street smarts -- and your ears and eyes open.
we live in a human neighborhood and there's nothing stranger than humans.

8. You are hypersensitive lately
If she doesn't even get home for another hour yet normally, I wouldn't worry about it.

Why don't you call the bar where she works?

9. Don't just sit at your computer - go looking for her!
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 07:22 AM by Divernan
Call the friend she sometimes stays with. If she's not there, there are a number of things for you to do. Next contact the bar manager and find out if she showed up at work and if so, when she left and who was the last to see her, and if the ex made an appearance last night. Next - go to the police. Yeah, I know - they respond that she's an adult and they won't do anything for "x" amount of hours, or some such shit. The sooner you report her missing, the sooner the cops will start nosing around the ex. She could be in a hostage situation, as horrifying as that would be.

Hopefully, she turns up OK. Ask her to consider making a few life style changes until the ex disappears from the scene. She should file for a Protection From Abuse order to keep the SOB away. But that's not enough. Unfortunately a lot of women have been killed by someone under a PFA order to stay away from them. You or your Dad should start picking her up from work at the end of her shift.
She was, frankly, inexperienced enough or foolish enough or whatever to get involved with a guy like this. She now needs to get realistic and protect herself. Also point out to her that she needs to think about her parents too, not just herself, and make some changes to address their worries.

ON EDIT: This was written before you got any oher comments and gave more feedback. If she's not even really late yet, then my suggestions are premature. But keep them in mind if the situation deteriorates.

17. I really hope everything's alright with your sister
That does sound like a scary situation and she's very lucky to have you to care about her. My Freeper brother would feed me to the wolves, if he could. Why are you feeling guilty about your dog? I have two and find that they are great to have around, especially late at night, despite the fact that they are little. They are better company than many people. Let us know how things turn out...

20. I'm glad she's ok.
Involve the cops - let them handle it. Don't go taking stuff into your own hands.

Oh, and make sure your sister calls more frequently, especially now with the loser ex.

Maybe you could find her a new b/f here on DU. ;-)

22. Glad to hear all is well HEyHEy...
My advice, from experience...if he is following her around, have her go file a police report. Usually that, if he is basically harmless, will scare him off. If not, handcuffs the next time he attempts to contact her. Good luck. :)

Hugs, Laura

27. thanks for the comps
Well, she contacted the cops and he is now not to have any direct or indirect contact with her. He better watch himself though. I can be a bit of a hothead and what not but the real danger is my future brother in law...my older sister has already needed basically ground him....he's a big bad boy and loves my little sister and wants nothing more than the chance to head up there and give this guy's toque a spin.
