Post a pic of you with something cool in the background...
preferrably, but not necessarily, while half-crocked.

Here is me doublefisting 5 dollar beers in Chicago this past summer on the Navy Pier.

OK maybe four bucks a beer, I really dont remember the exact price, but I always tip a dollar a beer....so around five bucks.

I have ex-bartender-waiter guilt I guess...I overtip like crazy.

50. where, exactly, was that? good luck on your third try!
I'd love to do the hike to the top of Half Dome one of these days....You can do it all in a day. 17 miles roundtrip, 5,000 elevation gain...it's very challenging, but do-able. I'd actually trained for it a couple summers ago with the hubby, then it just so happened there was a fire the very week we were visiting, so that blew our plans. Bummer. Haven't done it yet....

like you said, "someday"...hopefully.

61. It's just east of Flagstaff, AZ.
I'm not certain of what they call it these days! I just remember it being outside of Winslow.

Half Dome would be a huge challenge, but I can't imagine the disappointment after training for it, then having a fire come along with a monkey wrench.

*sigh* Yep, someday! :pals:

145. You trained for Half Dome?
I've been up there several times, and it's not a particularly arduous hike. The 5000 foot elevation gain sounds challenging, but most of the ascent is very gradual and most of the steeper sections have long since been carved into steps or stepped terraces. The only real tough part is the last climb up the cables, and while it's steep, it's also fairly short. As long as you're in reasonable shape, you can make it without any special practice. Just remember to bring LOTS of drinking water...you'll need it and there's practically none on the trail.

147. Really?
I didn't know it had a name. We'd just been wandering down from where our hotel was and ended up there. We came across lots of little shellfish that had ended up on the sand when the tide went out, so we spent a good deal of time attempting to rescue them by picking them up and gently putting them back into the water. Hopefully at least some of them made it.
