Kids can be so innocent and gullible...
My husband is replacing both toilets in the house this weekend. He was carrying out the second one and placing it into our backyard where our kids were playing with neighbor kids. (We have to call someone for pickup.)

While my husband was toting it out, I commented to one little boy, "Yep, it's time to bring out the Christmas decorations!"

He got this mortified look on his face like he was thinking, "My mom already isn't too happy with the neighbors," so I chuckled and told him I was kidding, "We don't consider our toilets to be Christmas decorations, either."

1. When my daughter was 5
I was making her some wings for her Halloween costume. I casually mentioned that she would be able to fly all over the neighborhood.
I had to dig her out from under her bed, dry her tears, tell her that daddy was only kidding, and feel like a jerk for the next couple of hours.

3. When my youngest brother was 3...
... I told him that if I unscrewed his belly button, his bum would fall off, and he believed me for about 2 years. :P

4. Did you ever "get his nose"?
When I was little, my grandfather would gently grab my nose between his fore and middle fingers and pull, sticking his thumb out between them at the same time.
"Got your nose."
I'd go tearing in to the mirror to see.
Stupid kid.

6. I did that to my niece when she was 3...

...then when I'd tickle her belly she'd run away from me, holding her butt on with both hands.
