Things are looking good for a Carnivale season 2
Carnivale's Future Foretold
by Michael Ausiello

It looks like HBO wants to get on Management's good side: The cabler is thisclose to renewing its deliriously addictive — yet modestly rated — Depression-era freak show Carnivale for a second season. "Barring disaster, which means the ratings falling off a cliff, we should be getting a pick-up ," exec producer Daniel Knauf tells TV Guide Online. "We have every expectation that we will be back."

Not bad for a series many in the media were quick to dub a disappointment. After a strong start, Carnivale's ratings tapered off, a development insiders blamed on the drama's slow pacing and increasingly complex mythology. But in terms of Internet traffic, Carnivale is nothing short of a phenomenon. Viewers have been jamming the show's official site at HBO.com in record numbers, picking apart everything from Ben's creepy dreams to whether Management is a He or a She. And the millions of fans who stuck by Samson and his band of merry misfits were rewarded with one payoff after another, culminating with Sunday's action-packed season finale (9 pm/ET).

1. I really hope it comes back, I'm hooked!
Can't wait to see tonite's season finale. The good thing about HBO is they rerun stuff so much that you can see it again and analyse it to death!

2. good, bring back Carnivale and dump K-Street
K-Street was a dull, pointless show.

6. everytime I watched K street, I was left going "huh?"
It was so jumbled, none of the plots seemed to go anywhere. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time to just shoot and try to make a story out of it, but hell, we did that as kids with the super 8's.

5. I didn't know there was a chance there wouldn't be a 2nd season
Yikes - it is the ONLY thing on TV I watch aside from a few movies. If they didn't bring it back, I would be deeply depressed. It's one of the few things that takes my mind off Bush and his creeping fascist corporate police state.

7. Don't miss tonight's show! I've read some of the spoilers
and it's going to be fantastic.

And, no, I never read the last page of the book before I start it.

If anyone is interested in some speculation, spoilers etc....

Or some quality recaps...

8. Please do NOT share the spoilers
I missed some episodes and am currently catching up via i Control on Time-Warner cable. In fact, this evening will be a Carnivale marathon, but I won't have made it to the end yet.

Thanks!
