Queens of the Stone Age
Any fans? They're one of my faves of the year. I only have "Songs for the Deaf", it's the only QOTSA that I've heard so far, but apparently they've been around for a long time in various incarnations (I was just looking at their website).

But I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live

(QOTSA, Go With the Flow)

1. their album is a little weak
But it does have some great songs on there. About four of five REALLY solid tracks.

7. and live they are a lot weak
earlier this year I saw them for free (the only way one can be truly impartial) and found myself saying, "THIS was sold out for weeks?"

3. I like them
and the related bands (Fu Manchu, et al). They kind of remind me of the best aspects of the Screaming Trees' early days.

4. I like the fact that they got Dave Grohl back behind the drum kit.
Not that I don't like the Foo Fighters stuff, but man, that guy can really go. He seems to enjoy it, too.

Josh Homme is really a good interview, too, if you can find one with him -- doesn't seem to take himself too seriously.

5. One of them used to be with Kyuss so you get a bit of...........
grind guitar in some of their stuff - 50/50 good/bad In general though, I like them. Fun!! Think I would still prefer Killing Joke and Ministry.

What's not to love? ;)

(But actually, "Born to Hula (new version)" or "Infinity" would have to be my fave.)
