Anyone watch Grey's Anatomy last night? ** SPOILER *** |
|
** SPOILER ***
** SPOILER ***
** SPOILER ***
Okay, good episode after a great cliffhanger last week...
But did anyone else go WTF after the guy blew up, and NO ONE else got hurt? I mean, LAST week, they evacuated the entire surgical wing, and Dr. McDreamy valiantly continued surgery in the face of death (as did Sandra Oh's squeeze). Which means this bomb was SO POWERFUL that it would not only blow up everyone in the room, but also everyone in the adjoining rooms.
(and this was BEFORE we knew about the main oxygen line)
And yet this same VERY POWERFUL bomb goes off several feet from Meredith, and she just gets a cut forehead.
Yeah, I'm nitpicking, but I think TV shows should have some continuity, especially after only one week. It's like if the bartender suddenly turned straight and nobody noticed.
Did anyone else go WTF, or just me?
Granted, good episode, but a few minutes after the credits it hit me that something didn't make sense.

I knew there was something I missed last night. Hubby had control of the remote darn it..
I wondered if the guy was going to blow up or not. What happened with the Dr's husband that was in surgery? Did she have her baby?
I just started watching it and don't know the character names yet.

have the baby I mean. And her husband pulled through (of course), but only after McDreamy did his desperate-angry blow to the chest, restoring his heartbeat.
And Oh's BF (forget his name) stopped the bleeding on bomb-in-the-chest guy, so he lived too. But hunky-ATF-guy blew to smithereens, as did another ATF guy.

he hits on Jlo and she sets him straight.
Oh and lets not forget that Burke finally referred to McDreamy by his first name.

I liked the "Dr. Burke / Dr. Shepard" became "Preston / Derek" right after the dual surgery. Nice touch.

And that it must have just been Meredith's imagination. But, nope. "You almost died today." Weird.

4. It was bizarre..and not credible. |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 04:29 PM by SoCalDem
a real UXB guy would have immediately transferred it into a special container, which would have been positioned just outside the room. He would not have sauntered down the hall, carrying it..
Overly dramatic show last night..just for sweeps.
In February & November,. look for trucks to crash into hosptial and for stuff to blow up.. Lazy screenwriters.

8. No kidding...bomb goes off, and she just gets a scratch? |
|
I'd think that hallway would 'channel' that blast right on down the corridor. Rupture her eardrums, at least. Nothing. Phooey.
Maybe the annoying music soundtrack distracted the bomb squad guy from SOP.

I thought the same thing. Was it a scratch or a piece of the guy? Then Mc Dreamy was talking about all the things that could happen to what's her face's husband and when they show him looking at the baby he is talking and holding the baby and everything. I don't know. My sister had brain surgery and she was pretty messed up after she came out of it. I know Mc Dreamy is a good surgeon, but come on.

6. Didn't bother me. Homemade ordinance might have its own quirky directional |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 04:52 PM by henslee
tendencies. Also, Meredith was not a few feet away but at least 30 feet away, it seemed. And she did go flying (cool shot) and was shaken up pretty bad. What did bother me was everyone in the hospital room blabbering on about Meredith and her bravery as she was holding the bomb in place when in reality... everyone else with her was in just as much mortal danger as she was.
I am getting sick of the McDreamy's same anguished look that he keeps gives Meridith all the time. It is a joke. And also, it is really demeaning for her character to keep pining for him.
Still, its a good show. And it's cool how just when it seems like one character is going to steal the show... another one shines. George is a good character.
As far as the bartender being straight...I must have missed that scene having sneaked out to kitchen.
And it was a nice touch that the beginning of last weeks show started with George's girl-in-shower fantasy sequence... and that this week's show (end of two parter) ended with a shower sequence --- only it was very different.... Izzy and Sandra Oh grimly cleaning off the blood of Merideth. Pretty good TV writing.

but no way Meredith could've known that. Cool shot, yes, but stupid move on the character's part.
Loved Bailey ordering George to "stop looking at my va-jay-jay!"

I was looking for a bomb box. I think the bomb guy wanted to get the bomb away from the immediate area of the patient and the bomb exploded before he got to the box.

Christina told Burke she loved him (while he slept because he told her when he thought she was sleeping), Christina Ricci's character, Hannah, was freaked out and hiding under the stairs and George found her and took care of a cut on her hand.

I can just imagine their first dinner conversation: "You should know, in the interest of honesty, that I've had syphilis, but it's been treated with antibiotics, and I'm completely disease-free now, and I got it from another doctor, I mean, not like that, it was by way of a nurse, who I'm not sleeping with any more, by the way..."

There are parts to every TV show that are unrealistic but I don't care, it's good TV, besides nobody knew how powerful that explosive was, they were just being cautious.
I love how the Cheif's wife caught on that Addison wasn't the "she" McDreamy was looking for.
I thought they might be setting up a romance with Meredith and the cute guys from the bomb squad, but then they blew him up (into pink mist). I thought for a second that they were gonna kill Bailey's husband and I started to cry a little.
I love how Bailey named her son William GEORGE, that's awesome.
Grey's Anatomy is becoming a favorite.

besides, wouldn't the bomb squad guy have a special bomb-proof box to immediatly put it in, instead of gingerly carrying it down the hall? And it was a HUGE bomb! Initially I though it was just going to be a bullet.
The handsome bomb squad guy-they didn't even tell the other staff he was blown up.

last week I thought the shower scene fantasy was hilarious "You're so much smarter than me, and you have great hair!"
Then at the end of this week's episode, the actual shower scene turned out to be very beautiful. The two friends taking care of Merideth was well done. I also liked when McDreamy gave Merideth a detailed description of their last kiss.
