Her daddy was in the IG group last year. He is listed as entered for this year but that he is absent. She was the runt and below the standard.

8. Not tonight...
My husband and I lost our beloved mixed terrier...mostly Schnauzer, who knows what else...on 1-17-06. How could the loss of a 33 lb. little guy tear such a big hole in our hearts? We got him in 1994, from the SPCA, and he was around a year old then.

He was perfect. He was scared, and didn't want to go with us at first...he shook so badly putting him into the car. I held him all the way home, and by then he was bonded to me, and we began a 12 year mutual love affair. At approx 11 months to a year old, he had been in the home of whoever surrendered him for six months. That meant that he had had another home for 5 or 6 months, so we were at least his third home.

He was loving, sweet, gentle and brave. He wanted nothing more but to be with us. We lavished him with love and attention, and the three of us were the perfect family. When we got him, our children were grown, and we had grandchildren, so we were the typical older, empty nest people who devoted their daily lives to their canine (or feline, or whatever other pet) companions.

We will adopt again fairly soon, because I don't want another soul as good as Mac to be lost just because some foolish...or unlucky...person, could not keep him/her. Normally, I love to watch the dog shows, but tonight it would hurt too much.

For all of you who share your lives with these wonderful companions, cherish them, love them, and enjoy them. I love you all here at DU...what a wonderful family!:love ya: :group hug:

11. ninkasi...I'm so sorry. it is amazing how they wiggle their way into
our lives, our hearts...the center of our family. As I type this, Jessie (a Sheltie) is patiently standing with her head in my lap...waiting for me to gvier her some loving. My heart goes out to you. It truly is the sad side of pet ownership that they are only with us for a little while. But the love goes on forever.

15. Thank you!
Yes, he captured our hearts completely. It's a tribute to them, though, that even knowing that they will only be with us for a little while, my husband and I are ready again to have one with us. We know that somewhere, there is a dog who needs a home, and we have a home which needs a dog.

You gave Mac a wonderful life.

When you're ready, may I suggest united yorkie rescue. They have a lot of good dogs that people have abandoned.

24. Thanks, I'll give them a look
I've been looking at the mini schnauzer rescue in my area, most are mixes, like Mac, but that's not important. We just want to rescue. Mac gave wonderful joy, too.

Such a special bond "we who are owned by weiner dogs" share :loveya:

My longhair girl is 14, we lost her "sister" last year at 16, and she definitely left a void as only unconditional love will do :( I will never be owned by any other breed....and I want to rescue them all.

Here's one of the fav's for the Westminster:

Amos: Ch. Scoshire Famous Amos is a wire-haired dachshund from Aquebogue, N.Y., who won the Hound Group at the AKC event in Florida. "I adore this Doxie," Vartanian wrote in an e-mail. She insists her feelings have nothing to do with having a Brussels griffon named Famous Amos. But she really doesn't think either Amos will win big at The Garden. Actually, she knows her own Amos won't, because she isn't taking him. She's taking ...
