Poll question: Why it's called "Office Politics" (Agree or Disagree?)
It's called "Office Politics" because only office workers have time to whine about their petty personal grievances while at work.

1. I wish that was it.
Backstabbing bastards looking for a scapegoat for shit that they didn't do right in the first place, so they can crow about how good they do and they have no competent staff and the world would be a much better place if they just had a bunch of clones of themselves - no need for different viewpoints, all others are wrong anyways.

Yeah, personal petty grievences. :eyes:

5. Funny how when I've worked in an office that sort of thing always happens
Where as whenever I've had a job that involves physical labor that sort of thing never happens.

6. Funny, because I saw it all the time.

Physical laboring did not stop it from happening. Guys blaming the people in front of them as the reason that they themselves could not get their job done.

There is no difference. (No one ever takes breaks?)

10. I suppose there's some of that, however there's much less time for it
and it's much less elaborate on a job that involves doing physical labor.

11. Maybe, but it could be that it is less elaborate b/c there are more
defined roles for physical work (I'm thinking factory work, since that is my experience), so there is only the one thing to worry about, whereas office jobs generally have many different projects/directions that could cause more interactions with other people.

13. True
I think I've done enough office worker bashing for now.

I'm going to go have a lie down because with the ice and snow my delivery job will be extra busy this afternoon and evening.

15. Thanks!
There haven't been many snow days so people are out of practice driving on it.

Also with the least bit of precipitation everybody orders delivery like they're going to be snowed in.

Plus tonight's my late night what with doing my 2am to 3am show on KZUM, so I think I'd better get to that lie down right now.

2. Just like the pecking order and...
who you know and who you blow. Ever had more time in the company and better qualifications than the person who got the promoted or hired to be your boss?

12. Could be jealousy.
I've been thinking maybe I'd like to get back to doing a job where I've a cubicle to compare to other people's cubicles and time to complain about it on the internet while waiting for my break where I can sample more of the goodies that were brought in for "food day".

8. Disagree, it's referred to as 'office politics' in that for similar...
reasons you are risen, or are fallen, as per your poll numbers & the number of babies & asses you kiss. but hubby refers to it all as, "being in the trenches"
