Poll question: Who has to work tomorrow?
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 06:39 PM by ikojo
Where I work we get only the following days off this year

New Years Day
Martin Luther King's birthday
Memorial Day...and what a long stretch it is from MLK to Memorial Day!
July 4
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas

That's it.

4. What made me do the poll was watching the news
and hearing the weather guy say there would be no rush hour tomorrow. The media assume that everyone gets President's day off when it simply is not true. I know few people in corporate America who get that day off.

That's a pretty good list you've got there. Hubby gets off New Years, July 4, Labor Day sometimes, Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's it.

7. I think US workers get the fewest days off of workers
in the industrialized world, that includes the fewest vacation days as well. I get three weeks but must be there 15 years before I get four weeks and that's it.

10. I heard that as well.
I'll get 3 weeks after 10 years, right now I still have 2.

5. I do.
But I only have to go to a basketball game and then write it up. The game is not until 5 p.m.

11. Gotta work, but plenty of days off otherwise
I get the following holidays:

New years
MLK
Good Friday
primary election day (when applicable)
Memorial Day
July 4
Labor Day
general election day (when applicable)
three days at Thanksgiving (can now take Monday and Tuesday as vacation and get the whole week off)
3-4 days at Christmas (can now take 3 days or so and be off from before Christmas till after new years)

So I'm not too bummed about not getting Presidents Day off.

13. I never work Mondays.
I generally take Monday holidays on Tuesday, but Presidentiary Day isn't a holiday for us.

I'm talking off until Thursday, anyway.

But that's OK, I'm not particularly fond of the current President.
