16. I saw a commercial for this earlier today.
I knew there was something I was going to mention...I remembered the boots, forgot the movie.

2. Thanks. I LOVE that movie, and I own it, but it has gotten
pretty scratchy over the years, so this will be a nice clean viewing. :)

4. "We're in a tight spot boys, tight spot."
We used to say that to each other over the radios in Afghanistan all the time. Then someone would ask for some Dapper Dan, and we'd start laughing and the tension would be broken.

but I warn you, they're very Republican, but good guys.

Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's true.

7. Care for some gopher?
No thank you, Delmar. One third of a gopher would only arouse my appetite without bedding it down.

Oh, you can have the whole thing. Me and Pete already had one apiece. We ran across a whole... gopher village.

12. I was an extra in that movie....The scene where he tells his daughters
he's still alive and they tell him he was'n't bone-fide. Clooney was extremely nice to work with, posing for pictures and joking throughout the days we worked together. John Turturo was on-site that day too.

36. He never refused a request for an autograph or a picture from the extras
I was lucky enough to get to stand next to him during several takes of that scene and he was really funny, laughing and telling jokes. He also loved throwing an old football around. Very cool guy (and drop dead gorgeous).

But in some parts...

By the way, Pappy O'Daniel was a real person. He was a Governor, but of Texas instead of Mississippi. He toured with a famous band called the Light Crust Doughboys.

37. "Wait a minute. Who elected you leader of this outfit?"
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well Pete, I figured it should be the one with the capacity for abstract thought. But if that ain't the consensus view, then hell, let's put it to a vote.
Pete: Suits me. I'm voting for yours truly.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well I'm voting for yours truly too.

Delmar O'Donnell: Okay... I'm with you fellas.
