What I currently have in my CD player |
|
An anthology of early recordings (1953-1955) by a doo-wop group you've probably never heard of: the Harptones. Right now, I'm swooning to the velvet voice of lead singer Willie Winfield as he caresses Louis Prima's lyrics:
I want a Sunday Kind of Love, A love to last past Saturday night. I want to know it's more than love at fist sight. I want a Sunday Kind of Love.
Yeah, baby! :loveya:

2. here's what's on mine . . . |
|
- Let It Be: Naked - the new re-do of the Beatles classic
- Kind of Blue - Miles Davis . . . but that's pretty much always there
- Getz/Gilberto - the classic Verve recording featuring Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto, and Antonio Carlos Jobim . . . with a couple of contributions by Astrud Gilberto, most notably two versions of "The Girl from Ipanema"

What you want for nothing? A rubber biscuit?
Is that 50s or 60s?

9. I'm well aware of that! |
|
My record and CD collection covers the entire history of recorded sound, from the 1890s - the present. It just so happens that the lion's share of my favorite music is from the 1950s and '60s. Hey, what can I tell ya?

10. I have 2 DVD drives in my PC... |
|
... which I have hooked up to my stereo since the built-in CD player is dead.
Anyway, in the upper one I have Blur's "Think Tank", which I like listening to every now and then, though I hate the copy protection program. And in the lower one, I have the CD version of Kraftwerk's Autobahn CD. It's a nice song to have going in the background :)
