4. It's all about the sandwich
It's about a man, hounded by work by a jerk boss, put off at home by a dumb wife and a disobedient dog, who has life opressing him left and right....but the sandwich...the sandwich brings him joy...

But really aren't all the old comic strips pretty much one notes? Beetle Bailey for instance. It seems that most of them are about overcoming other people's stupidity and opression in order to enjoy food. ;)
