I woke up at 3 this morning and ironed. |
|
My ironing is obsessive compulsive. So when I wake up and can't sleep I just get up and iron.
Trouble is I have run out of ironing and have starting ironing things the second time. But it is very calming. Watching the wrinkles just melt away.

2. Really - it works well |

Then about 4 I went back to bed and fell back asleep until time to get up. But boy was I havings strange dreams. And it gets the ironing done. But I just love to iron and I love the way things that have been ironed look.
I dreamed that all the fixutures on the bathroom sink were gone and the holes that were left were all plugged up.
Is that not too wierd?

3. I don't think it's too weird. |

I get in moods where I love iron. And all of our sheets and pillowcases have to be ironed, so I get it out of my system once a week. :hi:

4. You iron the sheets and pillowcases? |
|
Boy, you are a diehard. I don't do that but it's because they are just too big for me to handle.
Do you iron the underwear?
I learned to iron from my Aunt Wilma - who was just the best. And she even ironed the underwear.
I don't do that.
And don't you love the way ironed stuff feels and smells? There is now some stuff in a bottle that you can spray on while you iron that smells just like linen. Wish I had thought of that.

5. Oh, no! The sheets and pillowcases are 100 percent cotton, |

so they _have_ to be ironed. We don't own an electric dryer (don't feel sorry for us; this is our choice), and the sheets aren't permanent press, anyway.
Other than the sheets, I only iron clothing and linen dinner napkins. The story behind the sheets is that I knew when I bought them a year ago that's I'd have to iron them, and they were a giant extravagance because they're absolutely _exquisite_, sand-colored sheets that match our ivory comforter cover. Even the fitted sheets are 100 percent cotton (not stretch jersey). But it's worth the work.

6. I'll bet that they look wonderful! |

I noticed that Bed Bath and Beyond now carries some kind of luxury sheets called "Hotel" sheets - I think. Boy were they classy.
But I have animals so I don't spend much on bedding. I need stuff that washes well and that I can just toss. I tried buying more expensive sheets but the dog's claws went thru those just as fast as they did thru the cheap ones.
I usually try to find my bedding at the Benedictine Nun's Thrift store. They have the best deals in town and it helps the poor at the same time.

7. I wish we had a place like the Benedictine store here. |

When I married Call Me Wesley, I "inherited" a bunch of pastel-colored fitted and flat sheets that wealthy that his (now dead) aunt had had handmade for her. Talk about _gorgeous_, and something I could _never_ afford to buy.
Since we don't have children, we consider our nice stuff also the property of The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger. He's pretty gentle, though. :hi: If I had a dog, I'd probably be a lot more careful with the nice stuff. ;)

8. Dogs are hard on bedding - it's their nails. |

See if you have a Mission Thrift Store. That's what this one is called and maybe they use the same name for all of their Thrift Stores.
All of their shirts are $1.50 - and you can get some really nice ones - but you have to look.
