So, in the newspaper today I see an article about this guy
Turns out I went to highschool with him. He's a good guy, was funny as hell too. This kind of thing was right up his alley. He's trying to trade his way up to a mortgage free home. He started with a red paper clip, traded it for a pen, now he's worked up to a record contract.

2.  There was a 1950s movie about this type of thing
An IRS guy comes out to this man's farm and the man is fairly well off and never filed a return. The IRS guy gets flummoxed because he got the tractor from selling a car and he got the car by selling a few cows and he got the cows....
