So they had a decent chance of having a white baby. I'm a halfsie myself, and my first child is really fair and has blue eyes, but the next one could quite likely have dark hair and eyes...

I once had a friend who was half Italian half Chinese. She looked 100% italian. Her sister looked 100% chinese. Everyone thought the chinese sister was adopted and it pissed her off.

She looks mostly Chinese, with beautiful almond eyes. When she was little and their family was visiting us in Kansas, stupid people in my hometown would say to my sister, "What a beautiful Vietnamese child! Is she adopted?" People can be such idjits.

24. i'm not that savvy on genetics, but i think it would be something to the

effect of: AB+AB = one AA, and one BB. The article talks about the statistical chances.

Kind of interesting if you think about it in terms of what the human race will look like in a few hundred years.

8. I've seen this before...they've also had Harlequin babies who were both

where one baby they showed was brown from the belly up and another from a different family was checkered.

It just means that the mother more than likely has 2 DNA patterns and she's creating eggs that can have different DNA than her.

Which means that they could do a DNA test and only one parent actually matches the child's DNA.

They are concerned because some people born with this condition can also commit crimes and if they don't do a complete tissue DNA match they won't get the right results. Saliva DNA can be different than blood and or semen DNA.

Strange but true. I saw it on Discovery Health. VERY interesting!

21. Yes! Exactly. I saw the episode and then on Discovery Health they

did a special on it. A lady had a baby and she was suing the father for child support and the baby matched the man but not her.
Come to find out her eggs had a different DNA than the rest of her body. I think there was another case where a woman was going to give
bone marrow to a son and the only way they figured out that the boy was hers was that the boy had both DNA from the father and the males in the mother's family. She ended up not being able to be a match for her son.

Then they showed the pictures of 2 babies. One was CLEARLY like a chess board black and a very light brown/white and another baby as an example was brown on the top or bottom but not both. Man it was kewl.

AMAZING. If you can catch the documentary record it. I was REALLY kewl how they finally solved the case with the child support.
