3. Art Fleming, the host of the first incarnation of "Jeopardy"
He wasn't smarmy like most of the other game show hosts.

I'm not sure how many people around here remember Art Fleming, though.

I wish I would have had room to include folks like Garry Moore, Art Fleming, Groucho Marx, Bert Convy, Peter Marshall... lots of good ones. (And plenty of cheesy ones too: Bill Cullen... that guy from Joker's Wild... and that other guy from Card Sharks)

9. No problem
And I liked Garry Moore, also.

Jack Barry, I think, was the host of "Joker's Wild". Damn, I don't remember the host of "Card Sharks"

:hi:

With the cardboard questions board...

'Jeopardy Classic'

It would be interesting to compare the difficulty of the questions between that version and today. I'm betting they were more difficult then.

8. As I remember, they were more difficult then.
I distinctly recall categories like "16th Century Opera". I don't think the original "Jeopardy" relied so much on popular culture as the current version.

30. Bill Cullen, anyone remember him.
I liked Bill Cullen when he hosted Joker's Wild (took over from Jack Barry).

Blew me away when I found out he had been exposed to polio and could not walk.

Of course, everyone knows what Jack Barry was best known for. If they don't they should run out and rent Quiz Show.

Actually even if they do know about Barry, anyone who hasn't seen Quiz Show should see it. It says a lot about this country.
