Why do the little icons for my favorites change to the IE icon? |
|
I don't get it. When I first add something to my favorites, it has it's own icon. For instance, the Democratic Underground favorite has the DU icon. However, after a time, it doesn't show up as the DU icon anymore, and simply comes up as an IE icon. What's the story with that? I want the unique icons if I can have them. Is there something I need to change in the settings?

4. IE can't remember the favicon.ico (which is the icon you're referring to.) |
|
So you either have to open your favorites and click on 'properties' to add the icons manually, or you might change to another browser like Firefox which does show the original icons.

So I've got to find the icon I want for it... go into each favorite's properties and manually add that picture? What a joke.
OK thanks. I thought maybe I was just missing something.

6. I may have figured it out myself. |
|
It seems as though the favicon.ico files are stored in Temp Int Files folder. Therefore, if you delete your cookies and internet files in Internet Options, you will lose all corresponding favicons from your bookmarks.
That's dumb.
