My coworkers say this all the freakin' time and then proceed to disregard or misinterpret whatever has been said. They could at least mix up "I understand your point of view." or "I see where you're coming from." Nope, always the same damn "I hear ya." Was probably said 50 times in the staff meeting today. :mad:

I remember reading once somewhere that the way people respond, ie, "I HEAR you", or, "I SEE where you're coming from" or, "I FEEL the same way", represents the first SENSE through which that particular person tends to respond.
We're all wired differently, but perhaps you've got a lot of people who are more auditorially-oriented in your office.
It certainly SOUNDS that way to me. ;)
