Anyone here like Pho?
I had it for the first time tonight, and really like it! I had chicken pho, what're some other good kinds?

Im a bit turned off by the ones that say they contain tripe.

That's just wrong.
A BFG should not eat vietnamese
even if they warn them with phee phi pho phum.

4. Love it
But being a vegetarian, it's tough to get the real stuff in SE Asia. But it's the best to eat on a stormy cold afternoon!

16. That's how all beef broth is made
Then you char some onion, ginger, allspice etc., wrap them in cheesecloth and let them simmer in the broth for an hour or two.

My favorite kind is with raw beef and cooked brisket.

14. LOVE IT! It's one of my favorite dishes in the world
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 12:45 PM by grace0418
Perfect on a cold day. I love all the fresh herbs and veggies you put into it. I love the broth, the noodles, the lime. I love everything about it. I usually get the beef but the chicken is good too. I don't get the one with tripe, although my husband (who is Asian) loves it.

We live a mile from a huge Vietnamese neighborhood in Chicago so we're very lucky.

15. Most pho is noodle soup made with various beef parts
tendon pho etc.

This is a North Vietnamese regional dish.

I like Vietnamese food, but beef noodle soup is not all that interesting.

17. I usually stick with the chicken.
Add some chili paste to it to spice it up some and it's one of my favorites. . . .

Hmmmm, now I know where I'm going for lunch on Monday :P
