How can I convince my puppy it's still cold outside?
The older dog (he's a hound mix of some sort) goes out to sit in the pen to keep an eye on the woods. The puppy (a beagle/lab) goes out to help. Five minutes later he's scratching frantically to come in. It's COLD out there! Five minutes later, it's time to go out again. Maybe the big dog is eating a steak! Five minutes later, scratching to come in. It's still COLD! Five minutes later, time to see if the big dog is eating some cheese... you get the picture.

1. Don't let him in right away next time.

Let him 'chill out' for a while. Then he won't be in such a rush to go outside again.

2. While dogs go in and out...
cats just stand in the open doorway trying to make up their tiny minds.
;-)
