should I find a new apartment? |
|
My landlord wants me to renew for a lease, suggesting that lease rates will go up soon because of the market.
Now in lieu of replacing used up fixtures properly, he'll do superficial things instead.
I know I'm not the only one who has complained in the past.
Of course, the cost of moving out is high and wouldn't match the cost of competing apartments...

1. Do you like your apartment? |
|
Are you settled into it as your home, or do you have a secret yen to go elsewhere?

I'm reasonably close to work and there are other advantages to living here.
And it is a home, I am settled in.
I do have a yen to travel (I'm thinking Kentucky or Texas), but that's in a couple of months.

4. Then maybe you should keep it for now |
|
The rent might go up, but it's probably going to go up everywhere.

If you can find a suitable place for a significant amount less than you are going to pay to renew your lease then you may want to consider it.
Have you got any friends or family who have pickup trucks who can help you move? My friends and family do and when somebody moves we all pitch in and help. It's probably lot cheaper than renting a U-haul and it's light years cheaper than having a professional moving company do it.
