3. Oh, yeah. AMC has been running Oscar nominees all month.
I forgot about Altman's Oscar tonight. :)

10. I once worked for him.
M*A*S*H was the first feature I ever worked on. Quite an experience.

15. Great 'film school'...
Altman's a great teacher in that he allows people to figure it out.

5. You're not watching the Oscars?!
You're right though - AMC is worthless now that they have ads.

6. I almost never watch the Oscars.
When I saw MASH was on, I wanted to watch, but we've just hit the first commercial break. :argh:

7. Yeah! What timing!
The commercials will also air just when you've become emotionally absorbed enough to forget that this channel airs commercials.

I don't watch them either.

How's the evening so far? :)

8. Thankfully the commercial break was short.
Plus, I've seen this movie a bunch of times, and I've read the book.

My evening is going pretty well. Trey is supposed to come by with Gammage campaign signs later. I just had some blueberries and vanilla yougurt. :9

13. Well, cool beans.
Then they'll start showing the same ads thirty-eleven million times before the movie is over.

Tell Trey I said hello. He probably won't know who the hell I am, but, it's the thought that counts. :)

Let's see, I nibbled on a tortilla while the spinach and cheese pasteries were baking, then had those with a salad. Nothing spectacular. *laugh* Nothing that merits the yummy smilie!

14. Now on commercial break #3!
:grr:

I have no idea when Trey is going to get here - I guess I should have cleared that up, eh? There's some kind of party at Mother Egan's tonight, so I'm guessing after that? Maybe Trey will remember, but probably not. ;)

I almost had some Swiss cheese that I bought yesterday; I'm spinach-less though. I thought that after the chips and salsa, I had better have something fresh and healthy. ;)

17. I feel your pain.
Sometimes I just lose patience and figure I'll just save myself the frustration by renting the damned movie then. Sad, isn't it? It's hard to find anything of quality on "major event" nights such as these - everyone just assumes that we all watch the Academy Awards.

Well, at least all the complaining we both heard earlier is no longer an issue. I was even considering chocolate later...

20. It is frustrating, but the History Channel was good earlier.
All about the layers of old Constantinople underneath modern Istanbul. Then they went to a show about Satan. I decided to flip around and landed on MASH.

There is a decided lack of complaining now. Mmmmmmm...chocolate...

22. The one about Byzantium?
With John Roemer? He's good. I seem to remember him having another one about ancient Egypt...starting to get into the memory-overwrite area...

But, they have some good movies from time to time. So...I take the good with the evil.

16. "God meant for us to find each other."
"His will be done!"

And thus began the great romance of Frank Burns and "Hot Lips" Houlihan.

19. Great movie-- I only wish I had AMC
stupid basic cable. Plus I don't watch enough TV to justify the extra $40/mo for anything more than basic.
