Good Tuesday Morning, Crew!
:donut::hi:
Welcome to a hideously early, Early Morning Crew! I have to be to work at 6 am today, so I'm having to get a extra early start.

My 4 day weekend is now officially over and I actually feel like I had some time off! :bounce: Usually, when I have a couple of days off in a row, they go by so quickly I don't feel like they even existed. So, it is good that I've had the time off!

Are you ready to get the day started with me even though it's so early? I hope so, because it's here!

Tomorrow i have a meeting with my supervisor and the company owner (someone is trying to sabotage me -- there's a thread about that).

The good news is, my daughter just got engaged, and I am so happy about that!

I know how happy you are about the engagement! I'm so happy for you and the couple too! :bounce::party:

Sometimes I think people get power high and like it when people are scared of them. If I were a district manager, I would NOT have it for people to be scared of me and dread my coming to their store.

I'm still nursing the medicine fog after-effects of that bad headache I woke up with yesterday. I will, sadly, have to go to bed soon if I am going to call the school about my "award" guests. I'm apparently going to Raleigh in April to meet some politicians about the college. They picked two of us to go and apparently they think I can talk the politicians into giving the school some more money. It's something to do with the soon-to-be-gone 4.0 GPA I have had for the last 2 and a half years. Damn physics class. I know it'll be the one to do me in. I just can't understand the concept that putting on the brakes is actually accelerating in the reverse direction. I always thought you had to change gears entirely to do that. I don't understand the concept, but that nutty physics professor swears up and down that he is right. He's a control freak and I argued with him about it. In order to accelerate in the reverse direction, I really do think you would have to change to reverse gear and then slam on the gas. Oh well. He's nuts and so am I, but who is nuttier, I wonder. I'm doomed now. Oh well.

:hi:

How did your maths exam go?

Your nutty physics professor is correct. Acceleration does not mean "getting faster," it means a change in velocity. Velocity is a vector quantity, that is it specifies direction as well as magnitude. This means that turning the steering wheel causes your car to acclelerate as well, because a change in direction means a change in velocity has occurred. A reduction in speed is assuredly a change in velocity, so putting on the brakes counts as acceleration too.

The 'problem' occurs because the technical physicist's definition of the term is not quite the same as the everyday meaning of the term. You will find this a lot. Weight, for example, is a force, and is measured in newtons. What we generally call weight, in pounds or kilos or whatever, is actually mass. This is another example.

57. Hi mason!
Your map was bogus. It didn't even follow the usual convention of defining the north as everything above the Watford Gap! (And even that isn't true. What the inhabitants of Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Lincoln call their region is the Midlands. The north is Leeds, Manchester and all those places up there).

I just endured a whole hour at the dentist! Apart from that I'm okay. How are you?

58. My map was totally accurate.
The real definition is above Watford.

I don't really care what northern folk use to rebrand their northern homelands. I could call here the Arctic, it would change reality one jot.

Sorry to hear about the dentist - was it vicious?

63. Does your dentist ask you tons of questions, but only
after numbing your face, sticking wads of cotton in your mouth, and sticking every shiny metal thing in the room in your mouth as well. Mine sure does. He just loves to numb my mouth up and cram it full of tools and then just ask tons of questions. He just chitter chatters away while I mumble and drool. I guess he is amusing himself when he does that. It must be funny from his perspective.

This teacher is old school too. He grades firm but fair. I'm pleased with that grade. We are now into the law of sines and will be starting the laws of cosines after spring break. I think I am understanding this part better. I just had to get through the weird algebra with sines and cosines and secants and all that. As one of my other teachers always says when he erases the board, "Let's erase all this foolishness." I kind of felt that that last chapter was a bunch of foolishness, because it didn't look like any normal trigonometry. My stepdad does trig for a living and that totally baffled him. I guess that is what makes it calculus.

Good Morning, Clint!

Yay on the feeling good after your four day weekend. As for myself, I have been feeling slightly under the weather- time of year, i guess. Anyhow, here's to Tuesday :donut:

78. Hello Mrs. G.
:hi:

It's turned nasty and rainy here - apparently that's what we need though. :(

Hope that you start to warm up soon.

80. Hi tj!
Rainy days are the worst in my opinion. And then, if they are windy and rainy, I don't even want to get up! Here's to a quick clear up for you. :hi: :pals:
