So,
what would you do with a 'boss' who is shrill and asks you to do multiple things at the same time?
That is my dilemma now.

Dammit.

2. Not easy my dear............
I work for a dermatologist who insists on overbooking her appts, - yells when there is someone 'at the window' (which I can see anyway)..... asks relentlessly where the 'back office' person is and what she is doing.. asks me to make personal phone calls for her.....asks me to decorate her file cabinet....
asks me to make photocopies, answer the telephone, make appts. and constantly wants to re-do the schedule.

I'm at my wits' end.

4. O.K. Get some Butanoic Acid.
It's not dangerous (It's like weak vinegar) but it STINKS! the stuff's awful. Stink out the place, get the night off! (Don't actually do this!)

3. Been through that before
What I ended up doing was saying, would you like THIS number one priority to supercede the last three number one priority tasks you gave me? And I said it in a light-hearted way, and he just looked at me for a second, and then said, "Oh, yeah. *laugh* So, which of my number one's do YOU think should be THE number one?" It was pretty cool. He wasn't a bad guy, just had a mind that went a million miles an hour. After that, he was able to joke about himself.

5. I'm convinced this woman is totally NUTS.
Today I wanted to rip her head off - almost picked up my coat and purse and walked out. Let her handle the 24 patients that we had schedule in one half day!!

6. Sounds like my mother in law
She's passed on, though.

Any chance you can arrange to meet with her to express your frustration with the current situation, and ask for prioritizing suggestions?

7. I wish. She doesn't listen. It's one thing after another with her.
I took this part-time job to help her out when she was fired from her other office (she opened an office down the street from them to do peels, micro-derms, etc). She seems to forget that I'm HELPING HER OUT!

9. Maybe you need to look for a new job...
At least you'd be happier.

10. You're right.
I love working there - when she isn't in the office!! The person we hired to 'job-share' feels the same way. We love working with the patients, it's the DOC who spoils it all.
