Do you have TREMENDOUS plans for St. Patty's day?! |
|
Thus far I have this:
Apply glittery fake shamrock tattoo to selected part of body.
That's it. I'm planning to build on that, though. probably. How about you?

Gotta say, though, not that I'm not an Irish dancer anymore, the holiday has suddenly become exponentially more enjoyable. :D

St. Paddys day doesn't really work into the plans, though.

I'm gonna do that.
And I'll give up hunting, at least for the day.

The -food runner-. They'd have to invent a place on the barrel lower than the bottom to describe that in the server hierarchy.

13. I plan on NOT drinking any green beer. |
|
I also plan on not eating any corned beef, and not wearing anything green. I also plan on punching anyone who tries to pinch me (I'm an eighth Irish; I don't need to be fucked with by people who think Saint Patrick's Day is an excuse to get drunk). If I celebrate at all it's going to be with a couple of pints of Guinness and maybe a Jameson's or two.

18. I toast my parents on St. Patrick's Day |
|
My mother was Irish so I'll be wearing green. I also try to find the weirdest place that has Guinness. This year's contender is the Mexican restaurant in our town. We will then drive home at a remarkably early hour.

I usually do invest in some Guinness around this time of year, but I don't know if I'll have any corned beef and cabbage. I'll eat corned beef, but it's definitely not my most favorite food product. And I definitely can't see wearing any green, if only because I think I look hideous in green. My excuse for not wearing green is that I'm Irish everyday, not just on St. Patrick's Day, so what's the big deal about wearing green on one day of the year? (Confession: I'm only actually half-Irish :) )

21. There's a Whiskey tasting at our favorite coffee/wine house. |
|
(It's coffee in the mornings, and wine and fine liquor and coffee at night.) I don't like Whiskey, but DH does, and so do a lot of his/our friends, so we'll probably go there.
Otherwise, once again, I will be protesting the celebration of the destruction of an indigenous culture by religious monomaniacs by painting myself with blue snakes.
(No, I'm not wearing green. I'm not Catholic anymore. And I'm not Protestant, because that would mean admitting that Ian Paisley has an iota of sense about him. I'm not pagan, either, but I find pagans more tolerant than either of the above.)

Been doing it for a few years now.
I'd get them tattoo'ed on, but I'm a blood donor and O Pos, so I'd rather not get a tattoo and have to take a year off. People who donate blood adapt to it, and if I don't donate every 75 days or so, my blood viscosity goes WAY up and my blood pressure spikes.

Paisley is one crazy bastard, and that is an insult to all the crazy bastards every born, from Attila the Hun, William the Conqueror on up through Ghengis Khan and Napoleon.
