And get this. The new one might be bad. Depending on how reinstall #2 goes, I may have to make a return trip to the store tomorrow. Grrrr!

I once was without a computer for over a month, waiting for the damned service dept at Best Buy to get it fixed. It took them that long to figure out that they needed to replace the motherboard. It's also the main reason why I'll NEVER buy anything from Best Buy ever again. :grr:

32. That's why I build my own computers.

In their defense, hardware problems are hard to diagnose because they're generally not reproducible like software problems are. When your motherboard, power supply or RAM goes bad, it can often look like a different sort of problem entirely.

Still, I prefer to make the mistakes myself. Believe me, it took me a long time to figure out that it was my motherboard that went bad. In fact I wouldn't own up to it until the @#$#% thing refused to POST during power up.
