Anyone want to buy my "Korn" tickets? |
|
My 15 year old had to bring ONE of his all "F's" (severe laziness), up to a "D" to attend this show. His Mom bought the tix, feeling that he might use this as incentive to DO SOME OF HIS SCHOOL WORK". He didnt! So now we have to stick to our guns and not let him attend this concert he so much wanted to go to. He's not stupid. Just lazy and defiant often telling us that he will quit school when he can and will probably end up in prison. What a fuckin cop-out I ever heard one. Hell, perhaps I'll take a date and see Korn. I dont really care for them but why let the tix go to waste. What am I going to do with this kid?

1. Make him go. Seeing Korn is punishment enough. |

3. If it's really laziness, |

I'd ground the shit out of him. No nothing until he gets better grades. Fuck the concert - rewards are for B's or better.

I was that kid. Sorry :(.
Have you tried an alternative school? We had a couple of those in my district.... didn't work for me, kind of worked for my brother, at first... but it does work for some kids.

he'll get to meet all the kids that drop out of school there (Korn fans) and be so scared that next semester he'll get straight A's.

6. You're forgetting something. |
|
The vast majority of Korn fans are still in middle school. But yeah, the stupidity level should scare him enough to get into an Ivy League school.

Middle school drop outs.
You know he'll be going to Harvard early when he meets those kids.

I definitely agree with you, sell the tix. Try Ebay or Stubhub.com
As to the kid, all you can do is point out losers when you see them, and emphasize what happens in reality after school is done if you don't do well.
Don't give up on him if he drops out, try to make him see the big picture.

9. Korn stopped making good records circa 1995 |
|
I would sell them. Take the money and go out to a nice dinner instead, or see a good band. For instance, the one pictured in "name not needed's" avatar.
